Person-Generated Health Data (PGHD) for COVID19 Monitoring, Management, and Prevention.

Abstract: Person-Generated Health Data (PGHD) is individually-permissioned data gathered from smartphones, wearables and other sensors that has the potential to transform the way health is measured, with broad-ranging applications from clinical research to public health and health care at large. This talk will explore the potential of PGHD to be harnessed in the fight against COVID19 in several ways: from community hotspot detection, to individual monitoring of progression and support to frequent testing. In addition to reviewing data collection and analysis efforts for ongoing studies, we will highlight evidence gaps that need to be addressed to further our understanding of the role of PGHD in characterizing, managing, and preventing COVID19 outbreaks.
