Research

I investigate potential applications of AI in the computational humanities, with a focus on machine vision (“digital visual studies”); and the socio-technical implications of specific machine learning systems (“critical ML studies”). I am particularly interested in the impact of artificial intelligence on the production of knowledge in the special sciences, and its effect on notions of perception and reason.
